| Project No: | P517201 | | Name: | Boosting Job Creation in the Private Sector | | Description: | The development objective of the Boosting Job Creation in the Private Sector Development Policy Financing for India program is to promote private sector–led job creation by improving the business environment, enhancing trade and investment openness, and mobilizing private capital to support firm growth. Aligned with Government priorities and the World Bank Group Country Partnership Framework for India FY26–31 under the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision, the program supports reforms that reduce regulatory and compliance costs, minimize business risks, expand access to markets and finance, and create enabling conditions for firms to grow and generate more and better jobs. It builds on sustained policy dialogue, analytical work, and ongoing World Bank Group engagements in areas such as MSME finance, trade, competitiveness, and financial sector development. The operation also advances the Maximizing Finance for Development approach by addressing regulatory, legal, and financial constraints to private investment and is aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement on mitigation and adaptation.
